Access to the lodge is by own vehicle from the state road Banská Bystrica – Ružomberok. The turnoff is 10 km from Ružomberok in the settlement of Podsuchá, from there 8 km to the lodge.

The surroundings and general location of the Smrekovica mountain lodge directly encourage a variety of activities throughout the year. In the summer months, they are especially popular mountain hikes along the adjacent reservations and attractions such as Skalná Alpa, Jánošíkova koľkáreň, lake Blatné, Kundráčka, Rumbáre, Matejkovský kamenný prúd. It is also possible to plan many interesting routes on mountain bikes.In the winter months, skiers, cross-country skiers, adventurers on ski-touring or snowshoes will come to their senses.
