Nižná

The Central nižná is charming village situated in Žilina, district Tvrdošín. The village belongs to the Orava region, it has 2778 ha and 4009 inhabitants. Offers visitors beautiful scenery associated with many options for sport. The village is surrounded by mountains from east Orava Highlands, west Orava Magura. Its territory extends Carpathian flys Skorušinské hills and elevation of the land area is in the range of 573 - 1222. M n. m. Its landmark is the Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Gaul, built in Gothic style in 1614 - 1620. The church is Cracow Goldsmith's work - the cup in 1570 and the two bells from the second half of the 17th century. Unique is the altar of the Crucifixion from the 19th century. The technical monument in the village is the Francis smelter, technical monument ironworks factory hall from 1836. The preserved condition remained remnants of buildings, walls district, bellows for expelling air into the furnace and the foundations of buildings Hamre.
